Jon Tugores

Jon Tugores-Kirtley is an architect, university professor, photographer and Airbus pilot. 

Architecture studies at the ETSAV-UPC Barcelona Tech + at the University of Texas at Arlington and the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin (Phd program).

He founded Jon Tugores architects in 2000, after collaborating with other international firms such as GCA arquitectes.

A multifaceted individual who blends his four disciplines in reciprocal experiences. A key player in the current technological landscape, he is a defender and promoter of hyper technology as an environmental solution. He’s lived in London, Manchester, Berlin, Vienna, Dallas, Bahrain, Madrid, Mallorca, Barcelona, ​​and Terrassa. He’s taught at the NYIT, ETSAV, U.I.C, and ESEIIAT. Invited at the Calgary environmental university and the Ferrarra school of architecture.

Xavier Vancells

PhD architect.

In 2000 established FFPV Arquitectura with Franc Fernandez and Carles Puig, architects. In 2010 founded XVA - Xavier Vancells Arquitectura. 

The work of Xavier Vancells has been published and exhibited internationally, and has received several awards including Nomination FAD Awards of Architecture 2010, Finalist 5th Biennal of Architecture Vallès 2009, Finalist FAD Awards of Architecture 2007,  First Prize 4th Biennal of Architecture Vallés 2007 Public Architecture Category, First Prize  4th Biennal of Architecture Vallés 2007 Regeneration Category, First Prize 2nd Biennal of Architecture Vallés 2003, Finalist FAD Awards of Architecture 2003 ‘Architecture Catalane 2004-2009.

In 2019, he held his first solo photo exhibition in Barcelona. In 2021, he exhibited again commissioned by the BBVA Foundation, at the Toni Catany museum.
Fed by the best gastronomy, and extraordinary wines. All under an epicurean and mediterranean way of living, always adapted to Raoul Pal’s ‘Exponential age’.

Xavier Vancells is Associate Professor in Architecture Projects Department at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya Barcelona Tech. He has been invited as visiting professor in some universities and institutions such as the Barcelona Institute of Architecture BIArch, the Illinois School of Architecture and the Umea School of architecture, among others.
