The Mies Van der-Rohe Foundation + Vueling Airlines, competition to design the livery of an A320

Jury member and co-organizer with Director of the Foundation Miss Gio Carnevalli. To coincide with the 25th anniversary of the prestigious European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award, Vueling and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe launched the “Linking Europe Competition,” an event created to support young talent by offering them the opportunity to bring one of their designs to life. The competition, held under the theme “The Construction of Europe through Cities and Culture,” was open to architecture, engineering, design, and art students from over 800 European universities.To participate, students had to submit their proposals via www.linkingeuropecompetition.com.An international jury selected five finalists and one winner, evaluating the relevance to the competition theme, the quality of the design solution, the originality, and the impact of the final image.The publication reveals the best proposals selected by the jury. The winning design has become a reality as a custom livery for this Vueling aircraft, which will be flying in the skies for the next few months.
